5 Days desert tour from Marrakech Itinerary
Day1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorge
🚗 Departure from Marrakech heading south, crossing the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m).
🏰 Stop at Ait Benhaddou: Visit this kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for being the setting for films such as “Gladiator” and “Lawrence of Arabia.”
🍽️ Lunch in Ouarzazate: Opportunity to visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the local film studios.
🚗 Afternoon: Continue to the Dades Valley, crossing the Valley of Roses and stopping at the Skoura palm grove.
🛏️ Overnight: Accommodation in a local hotel in the Dades Valley.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge– Merzouga
🌄 Morning: Breakfast and departure for the Todra Gorges, where you can hike through the canyon flanked by 300-meter cliffs.
🍽️ Lunch in Tinjdad: Enjoy local cuisine in a traditional restaurant.
🚗 Afternoon: Continue the journey to Merzouga, passing through Erfoud, known for its fossils.
🐪 Sunset in Erg Chebbi: Camel ride to enjoy the sunset over the dunes.
🏕️ Night: Overnight in a Berber camp in the desert, with dinner and a drum show around the campfire.
Day 3: Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Merzouga
🌅 Breakfast and visit to the village of Khamlia to enjoy Gnawa music and learn about their culture.
🍞 Lunch in Rissani: Explore the traditional market and try the famous “khobz” breads.
🏜️ Afternoon: Visit a nomadic family to experience their desert lifestyle.
🏕️ Overnight in a hotel with optional activities such as sandboarding or quad biking.
Day 4: Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) – Rissani – Ouarzazate
🌅 Sunrise in the dunes: Enjoy an incredible sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes.
🍽️ Breakfast at the hotel.
🚗 Departure to Rissani: Visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif and the Rissani palm grove.
🍴 Lunch in Nkoub: Lunch in the village of Nkoub.
🚗 Travel to Ouarzazate: Tour of the Draa Valley until reaching Ouarzazate.
🍽️ Dinner at the hotel in Ouarzazate.
🏨 Accommodation: Overnight at the hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Telouet – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
🚗 Transfer to Ait Benhaddou: Departure for Ait Benhaddou to visit its Kasbah, a World Heritage Site and one of the most impressive fortified villages in Morocco.
🏰 Visit to Telouet: Continue to the Berber village of Telouet and visit the Kasbah el Glaoui.
🚗 Crossing the High Atlas: We cross the High Atlas Mountains towards Marrakech.
🕖 Arrival in Marrakech: Arrival in Marrakech around 7:30 PM, ending the tour.
